Ruben Hernandez is an award-winning writer and editor. He began his journalism career with New Times Weekly in Phoenix as a staff writer. He also worked as journalist covering the Border and Mexico for Gannett Newspapers out of Tucson, as an assistant city editor for the Naples Daily News (Scripps Howard) in Florida, as a writer for the Phoenix Business Journal, for the past five years as executive editor of Latino Perspectives magazine in Phoenix, and currently serves as a media strategy consultant for Ideaz Media. 

 In addition, Hernandez was vice president of MegaHertz Mediaworks, a Phoenix-based media production, marketing and events agency. He coordinated print, video, TV, radio projects. Previously, at Valle de Sol, Inc., Hernandez directed Valle’s marketing and communication plans, corporate outreach, and managed its Hispanic Leadership Institute and Profiles of Success leadership awards annual luncheon.
